This forty-two mode of surah versification of the QA., is evident in certain mss. of this work; most notably, the early 1261 mss. of Muhammad Mahdī ibn Karbalā'ī where QA1 and 2 (and other surah headings) have the following words after the surah title (e.g. Surat al-mulk) and in between the basmala : wa hiya ithnā'[tāni] wa arba`ūn "and Surah Mulk in Arabic Virtues and Benefits of Surah al-Mulk. Abu Hurairah RA reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) saying, “There is a Surah in the Qur’an which contains thirty Ayat which kept interceding for a man until his sins are forgiven. This Surah is ‘Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion.’ (Surat It was narrated that Abd-Allah ibn Mas’ood said: Whoever reads Tabarakaladhi bi yadihi’l-mulk [ie.
